Cook of Mess. Painted ship but cooks were told off for provisioning. Took in meat & spuds and then overhauled brails on Starboard side. Commander Kirwan took over. ‘Lion’ left dock about 3.30. Told off with party to let hawsers go on dock. One gave way. Followed up ‘Lion’ in Sailing pinnace. Dropped anchor at mouth of harbour. Got coaling gear ready. 1st part of Starboard had to shift into coaling rig in first dog to fill up 100 sacks per hold. Did my hour of extra drill afterwards, chopping up rumble for prisoners. Coal ship tomorrow. Nothing about Holland and so only buzz.
