Holy stoned decks before breakfast. Painting under fore-shelter deck in forenoon & in “B” Turret again in afternoon. Finished at 3. Cook of Mess. Made duff in evening.

Told off for “B” Turret again. Enameled out (?) cabinet. Took forenoon & afternoon over it. Finished about 2.30 and so had slack time. Duty post. Stowing provisions in dog watches.

Told off to paint out Cabinet in “B” Turret in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Fine day so got head down on upper deck.

Told off to scrape 4″ guns. Working on them all day. Buzz about more leave shortly. Another fine day.

Hands called at 4.45 (1/2 hour earlier than usual). Scrubbed decks with caustic (?). Painted ships side. Scraping behind foremost screen in forenoon & (?) leading same in afternoon. Party of visitors came on board at 2.30 and so hands had to make themselves small & so packed up work early.

Scrubbed out Mess. Told off to work with bos’un’s party in forenoon & afternoon. Had to get up spare nets from stone in foremost flat. Nets at bottom of everything and so had to clear everything out. Troops painted down aloft & upper deck. Duty Searchlight.
