Exercise Action in forenoon. Red leading out Store Room under submerged flat in afternoon. Night defence  in evening. White Watch ammunition supply. Duty Sub. Slept under fore shelter deck.

April 7th 1916

Seamen landed in forenoon & marched to Canteen Field for Battalion drill. Quite nice for a change. Make & mend in afternoon instead of Saturday, New Routine. 

April 6th 1916

Coaled ship 375 tons from Agnes Duncan. Finished before breakfast. Cleaned ship in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Nice day.

April 5th 1916

Diving party all day. Went away from ship & divers went down in 8 fathoms of water (monthly dip) another zepp buzz but nothing doing.

April 4th 1916

Painted ship all day. Duty Sub. Still nice weather.

April 3rd 1916

Usual Sunday Routine. Intended to land in afternoon but not enough boat accomodation again. Lovely day so read and stalled on upper deck in afternoon and evening. Zepps visited neighbourhoods but did not come anywhere near the Fleet. Dropped bombs on Edinburgh & Leith. *

Saturday Routine. Cook of Mess. Paid in forenoon. Lady Munition Workers visited ship in afternoon. Make & mend. Head down. Lovely day. 

April 1st 1916

Exercise Action in forenoon. Started painting screens to where “Secure” had sounded. Stopped painting in afternoon except to finish off where we had started as ship is going to be painted a different colour next week.

Cleaned outside of pinnace in forenoon. Part of ship in afternoon.

March 30th 1916

Got nets ready for going out before breakfast as there was a buzz that a submarine was skulking around. Aired bedding in forenoon. Told off part of Starboard should have landed in afternoon but found they had not enough boat accommodations, so we did not go.
