Diving party in forenoon. Paint ship. Spotting table at 11 o’clock. Cleaned into painting rig in afternoon & carried on painting. Duty Sub. Meat & spuds at 4.0 p.m.

Started coaling at 6.30. Took in 420 tons from Agnes Duncan. Finished before breakfast. Cleaned ship in forenoon. Played for Seamen’s team v a Manchester team in afternoon. Lost 3-1. Good game. Shifted from H.A. gun and put trainer of 15 ft. rangefinder.

Hands called at 5.30 AM. Got under way about 7.0 AM. Tried paravanes and ran torpedoes. Arrived back about 1.30. On fos’cle nearly all afternoon.

Arrived Newcastle at 5.30 A.M. Missed Edinburgh train and had to wait until 9.35. Arrived Edinburgh 12.45. Got on board about 1.30. Saw doctor at 6.0 p.m. All A.1.
