Started coaling at 6.30. Took in 420 tons from Agnes Duncan. Finished before breakfast. Cleaned ship in forenoon. Played for Seamen’s team v a Manchester team in afternoon. Lost 3-1. Good game. Shifted from H.A. gun and put trainer of 15 ft. rangefinder.

Painting Party. Spotting table. Played 4th Division Stokers in afternoon. Won 2-0. Ground in good condition. Mr. Harrison sent for me re

Painting Party. Action Stations in forenoon & spotting table. Should have played 2nd Div Stokers but they cried off and we had a kick about.
Told off for Advance leave party probably leaving on Monday.

Hands painted ship after breakfast. Breakfast at 7 o’clock. Painting Party all day. Spotting Table in forenoon. Put name in for Commander’s

Painting Party in forenoon. Submarine attack stations. Make & mend piped in afternoon. Painting party stood fast to finish
Lobby. Went under short-notice about 1 o’clock. Hands cleaned into coaling rig at 1.30. 2 hours notice. Collier came
alongside about 4.15. Took in 408 tons from Agnes Duncan. Finished about 6.30. Rotten cleaning down afterwards as it was
raining hard the whole time. Had snow in morning. Banked fires in evening.
