Control in afteroon. “Gunnery Jack” spun control practices yarn about Saturday’s firing. Painting in bottom colour in
lobby in afternoon. Seaboats returned.

Evaluations. Prepare to be taken in tow fore & aft. “Weight anchor by hand”. In pinnace for latter. E cancelled out Lobby
in afternoon. Duty part.
May 27th 1917
Routine 1/2 hour later. Usual Sunday Routine. Church in forenoon. Head down in afternoon. Evening Service.
May 26th 1917
Waiting for weather to clear for firing and so not much doing in forenoon. Got under way about 11.30. A.M. Sub Calibre 16
rounds per turret. Cleaned into coaling rig on return. took in 530 tons. Finished about 4.0 p.m. Cleaned ship in dog
watches.
May 25th 1917
Dropped hook again about 12.15 A.M. 2nd part Starboard on fos’cle. Turned in about 1.p A.M. Hands called at 5.45
A.M.Lashing casks in pinnace in forenoon. Painting party in afternoon. Answered bugle. Told off to look after scran bag.
Took about 1/2 an hour. 2nd advance party returned from leave.
May 24th 1917
Cleaned away for ammunitioning before breakfast. Overhauling coaling straps in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Head
down on upper deck. Answered bugle but did not do much as was duty part. Got under way about 9.30. Action Stations about
10.30 p.m. Night firing 13.5′ 3/4 ch. 2 rounds per gun and 4″.
May 23rd 1917
Holy stoned decks. Cleaning paintwork in forenoon. Had to see Commander for being adrift from Sub on Tuesday. 3 days Extra
Work. Painting casks for sailing pinnace in afternoon. Got under way about 5.0 p.m. for sub calibre firing. Dropped hook
on return.
May 22nd 1917
Scrubbed decks with sand. Cleaned ship generally in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Head down. Got under way about 5.0
p.m. for 4″ firing by training class. Ran torpedoes.
May 21st 1917
Middle Watch. Ordinary Sea Routine. Cleaned into coaling rig about 11.0 A.M. Arrived Scapa about 2.0 p.m. Started coaling
about 2.45. Took in 1300 tons. Good collier but very dusty coal. Finished about 8.0 p.m. Cleaned down after supper.
