Had Middle Watch. Arrived Rosyth about 7 o’clock. Coaled ship 850 tons. Very good coaling. Average 380 tons. Cleaned ship in afternoon.

October 21st 1915
Put out to sea about 7.0 A.M. Steamed down to Cromarty Firth and carried out 13.5 firing. Told off for recording variation in course. Commander-in-Chief Admiral Jellicoe watching firing from destroyer. Not very good firing. “Queen Mary” left us afterwards and returned to Scapa. We carried on back Rosyth. Had first dog.
October 20th 1915
Had morning Watch. Arrived Scapa Flow about 7.0 AM. Coaled ship, 900 tons.
October 19th 1915
Steaming all day. Part of ship in forenoon. Pipe down in afternoon.
October 18th 1915
Raining all day. Working with gunner putting new servings on cordite slings. Should have played 3rd Div Stokers but cancelled owing to rain. Put to sea about 4.30. Had 1st Watch.
October 17th 1915
Sunday Routine. Marched past skipper at divisions. Went ashore in afternoon with landing party.
October 16th 1915
Holy stoned decks. Scrubbed out Mess in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Got head down.
October 15th 1915
Coaled ship 420 tons. Cleaned ship in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Got head down.
October 14th 1915
Gunners Party. Chipped under “A” Turret.
October 13th 1915
Landing Party in forenoon. Went to concert in Y.M.C.A. in afternoon.
