Funeral of Marine Gunner Comely. Painted trunks in forenoon. Landed to play cricket for foretopmen in afternoon but thunderstorms came on before we reached the ground and so returned to ship.

“X” Turret Reserves to drill. Make & mend in afternoon. Thunderstorms in evening.

Route march in forenoon. Landed Rosyth side. Painting party in afternoon. Submarine supposed to be in harbour in evening and so made all preparations for getting under way. Nothing doing.

4″ gun drill. Painting Party in forenoon. Under short notice.

Painting Party all day. Marine Gunner Comely died in Hospital.
