Not very much doing in forenoon. Wiped over Quarter Deck with hot water as Admiral Jellicoe was coming on board. Cleaned “Saxon’s” hold in
afternoon over in Dockyard. Duty Sub. Did not sleep forward as no billet.
Blowing hard & raining nearly all day. Told off for provisioning party. Started at 9 o’clock. Got everything on board by noon. Only had to strike
down in afternoon. Winter clothing served out to troops. “Iron Duke” came unto harbour in forenoon.
Coaled ship 530 tons from Frances Duncan, before breakfast. Cleaned ship in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Head down. Night defence at 6.10.
Attack by picket boats.
Anchor Watch 2-4. Wind had eased down a good deal. Finished off sleep down on Mess Stool. Raining hard when hands turned to. Splicing firing
lanyards for the fron in forenoon. Played E.R.A.’s in afternoon. Lost 0-4. Rockies were not up to form but E.R.A.’s deserved their win.
