Scrubbed decks with sand. Admiral’s Inspection of fighting efficiency of ship in forenoon. Landed with part of Watch in afternoon. Spent part of time in church Army hut. “Battle of Somme” shown on board but not much chance of seeing it owning to crowd.

Told off to land in forenoon. Went over dockyard and after breakfast and scrubbed out “Piscator”, a fishing drifter. Rotten job. Raining hard all
forenoon. Went & finished off in afternoon. Came off with landing party at 5.30. Duty Sub. Slept under fore-shelter deck.

2nd part of Starboard Watch on fos’cle first thing. Got cable ready for shipping first thing. Had 1/4 hour for breakfast and then in fos’cle
again. Got under way about 7.30 and went outside for Sub-Calibre firing. Repairing coaling straps from 10-11. Started firing at 10.30. Returned
to buoy about noon. 2nd part Starboard on fos’cle again. Only gun quarters in afternoon.
