Holy stoned decks before breakfast. Saturday Routine. Scrubbed out Mess. Not much doing in afternoon.

Holy Stoned decks before breakfast. Down in Mess in forenoon. Ordinary Saturday Routine. Make & mend in afternoon. Got head down. Duty Sub.

November 11th 1916

Prepared for paint ship and gun quarters before breakfast. Painted ships side in forenoon. Went to concert on “Indomitable” in afternoon. Very
good indeed. “Repulse” joined up and went into dock.

November 10th 1916

Coaled ship 250 tons before breakfast. Cleaned ship in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Got head down. Night defence at 6.15. Attack by picket
boats representing destroyers. Very feeble evolution. Duty Searchlight.

November 8th 1916

Told off to land in forenoon. Went over dockyard and after breakfast and scrubbed out “Piscator”, a fishing drifter. Rotten job. Raining hard all
forenoon. Went & finished off in afternoon. Came off with landing party at 5.30. Duty Sub. Slept under fore-shelter deck.

2nd part of Starboard Watch on fos’cle first thing. Got cable ready for shipping first thing. Had 1/4 hour for breakfast and then in fos’cle
again. Got under way about 7.30 and went outside for Sub-Calibre firing. Repairing coaling straps from 10-11. Started firing at 10.30. Returned
to buoy about noon. 2nd part Starboard on fos’cle again. Only gun quarters in afternoon.

November 6th 1916

Raining hard first thing but cleaned up after breakfast in time for divisions. Usual Sunday Routine. Church in forenoon. Head down in afternoon.
Church in evening. Cook of Mess.

November 5th 1916

Had Middle Watch. P.Z. Exercises in forenoon. Hands at action stations. Make & men in
afternoon. Head down. Submarine crew from 4 till 5. Had first Watch. Hands paid in dog watches.
Pretty good sea on. Had first Watch.

November 1st 1916

Usual Routine. Down in after mess deck in forenoon. Put in request to land and see football match but under short notice and so washed out.
Prepared for sea after dinner. Make & mend from about 2.30. Put out to sea about 5.30 p.m. Had 1st dog.
