Port Watch returned from leave at 7 o’clock. Cleaned flats and fell in at 9 o’clock. Left ship at 9.45. Caught 10.25 train from Pelaw. Changed at York. Had to wait 2 hours for train and so had grub and a stroll around York. Left York at 1.30. Arrived King’s Cross at 7.10. Arrived Sidcup about 8 o’clock.

February 24th 1915

Got screen over damaged hole aft. Had forenoon in diving boat but diver did not go down. Packed bundle in evening.

February 23rd 1915

Scrubbed decks. Cook of Mess. Put canvas screen over damage on side. Amidships. Started wire splicing in afternoon but told off for diving party at 1.45, so got head down for rest afternoon. Had 1st dog in diving boat. Nearly blew diver up in air by putting in too much pressure. Packed up at 5.30. p.m.

Fetched Liberty men off at 7 o’clock in launch. Stood off from both Watches. Piped down for day at 9.30. 

February 21st 1915

Fell in with hands. Working cable again in forenoon and afternoon. Had to take liberty men ashore in launch at 5 o’clock, & brought bread back to the ship. 

February 20th 1915

Had forenoon watch in diving boat but no divers went down. Fell in with “Hands” and then piped down. Worked with hands in afternoon and humped cable, getting it ready for survey, and then got in stores. Cleaned and went ashore. Had hair cut and then met Sid and Jeroin outside Empire at 6.30. Went to first house at Empire. Good show. Had grub at North of England Cafe. Missed 10.30 boat but caught officers boat at 11 o’clock. 

February 19th 1915

Scrubbed decks. Stood off afterwards. Should have had afteroon in diving boat, but no divers working. Got spuds in in afternoon. Did “dobeying” in 1st dog.

February 18th 1915

Scrubbed decks. Stood off in forenoon and afternoon. Should have had 1st dog but diver had packed up and so did nothing all day. 

February 17th 1915

Scrubbed decks. Had forenoon in diving boat. Got head down in afternoon. Had bath in 1st dog. Should have been last dog in diving boat but diver had packed up. Chitty adrift all day. 

February 16th 1915

Watched liberty men off at 7 o’clock. Returned at 7.40. Joined up with part of ship after search decks. Cool of Mess. Started on cable again but about 6 bells told off for diving party in 3 Watches. Got head down in afternoon. Had 1st dog. Told off for 3rd diving party. Had 1st Watch. Diver picked up about 9 o’clock. Turned in. Had to turn out again at 10.30 to shits mats in shed alongside. Relieved at 12 o’clock.
