Usual Routine. Exercise action after divisions. X Turret Resume to drill in afternoon. R.N.V.R. men who joined up yesterday left for different ships with the exception of one.

Started coaling at 7.45.a.m. Finished at 9.30 am. Took in 350 tons. Several other R.N.V.R. (wireless) came on board for disposal, one of whom knew Arnold and all my R.N.V.R. pals.

Cleaned pinnace in afternoon & then went to Search Light drill. Nothing doing in afternoon except odd jobs. Chilty’s birthday. Treated mess to pork supper.

Church in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. New mess goes down well.

Saturday routine in forenoon. Make & mend in afternoon. Moved into 44 Mess. R.N.V.R. only. Much better. Only 11 of us in Mess.

Usual Routine. Make and mend in afternoon but made up for it in dog Watches where we provisioned from 4.30 to 7.45.

4″ day action crews to drill. “X” Turret Reserve drill in afternoon. In shell room. Exercise action again in Evening.
