Usual routine. New Commander took over. Commander Parker left. 4″ drill & physical drill in forenoon. Very wet day.

New routine. Turned out at 6.45.a.m. Breakfast at once. Fall in at 8′ o’clock. Nice day but very cold. Lots of buzz around re leave.

Nothing doing and so all fed up as we thought we were in for a bit of sport this time. Arrived Cromarty at 4 a.m. tomorrow. Notice on board that Admiralty failed to send aircraft and so spasm was a failure.
