Fine day. Action crews closed up all forenoon. Nothing doing. Light Cruiser attacked by aeroplane in Heligoland Bight but no damage done. Forts also spewed fire. Gave them another opportunity to meet us by cruising round all night but nothing doing again.

Sunday routine. Church in forenoon. Pipe down afterwards. Put to sea at 4:30 p.m. Whole Battle Fleet with us also Light Cruisers and Destroyers.

Got nets aft but did not furl them. (?) Got in torpedoes. 4″ day action crews fired .303 at target. Returned to Long Hope Bay in 1st dog watch. Rained hard.

Arrived Long Hope Bay (Scapa). Coaled ship 900 tons. Single derrick collier and so slow work. Left off coaling at noon to provision ship. Went to ‘Gourka” for meat and spuds.

Coaled ship 180 tons. Finished at 10.30. Cleaned ship.

Turned out at 6.30. Scrubbed decks. Church in forenoon. Went ashore in afternoon for march.
