Painting Party all day. Hands mustered by ledger in forenoon & saw parchments. Duty part. Put down as reserve for ships team v “Inflexible” but
grounds were unfit.

Arrived Rosyth in Middle Watch. Started coaling about 8.30. Took in 930 tons from Agnes Duncan. Finished about 11.30. Cleaned ship in afternoon.

Had Middle Watch. Seemed very long. Very cold. Action Stations for about 1/2 an hour after breakfast. Church in forenoon. Head down in afternoon.
First Watch. Supposed to be out after some transports conveying grain to Germany. Heard buzz that destroyers had got them.

Lobby. Went under short-notice about 1 o’clock. Hands cleaned into coaling rig at 1.30. 2 hours notice. Collier came
alongside about 4.15. Took in 408 tons from Agnes Duncan. Finished about 6.30. Rotten cleaning down afterwards as it was
raining hard the whole time. Had snow in morning. Banked fires in evening.
