Packed up watch at 2.30. Hands called at 4 o’clock and started coaling at 5 o’clock. Had lay in till 6.45 as was on Sick List. Saw Doctor at 8.30 who gave me medicine and told me to carry on part of ship although I could not speak above a whisper. Shifted into coaling rig and carried on about 9.30. Coaling finished about 10.30. Took in 1350 tons from Agnes Duncan. Scrubbed decks before dinner. Took in sand in afternoon. Duty sub. Had the shakes during night watches.
