Arrived Rosyth at 10.0.AM. Started coaling about 10.30. Finished about 7.30.p.m. Took in 1820 tons. Submarine supposed to have fired at us as we were coming in.

Usual Sea Routine. Had all night in. Only working in two watches as evenings are so light. Alarm sounded off about midnight for 4″ night firing. The evening happened to be quite light and ships on horizon would be seen quite clearly and so no need for searchlights. Had to stop up at lights though whilst firing took place.
