Swept round Heligaland again inviting Germans to come out. Nothing doing. Several wisps sighted which destroyers fired at. Several trawlers
searched. Alarm sounded during 1st watch one night. Found out that some of our own ships had been sighted and so nothing doing.

Arrived at Rosyth about 6.a.m. Arrived just inside Forth Bridge. Coaled 1650 tons. Told off for provisioning party.

Searched one or two trawlers. Swept round coast of Norway and Heligoland. Nothing doing.

Finished off coaling & took in ammunitions. Very hard day.

Homeward bound. Arrived Scapa Flow about 4.p.m. Steamed round the Fleet and met with great reception. Ships cheered and bands played appropriate music. Coaled and provisioned all night until 5 A.M. 30 August. Piped down until 4 A.M. & then carried on again. 

August 29th (contd).

Took in 1250 tons. Told off provisioning party.
