Got under way about 7.30. Went out into bay and dropped hook. 4″ day action gun crews fired 1″ aiming in forenoon & afternoon. Got under way again about 4.0 p.m. for Sub Calibre firing. Night defence exercised in dog Watches. White Watch stand fast. Dropped hook again about 7.0 p.m.

Had Middle Watch. Seemed very long. Turned in for an hour afterwards. Hands called at 5.0.AM and shifter into coaling rig straight away. Arrived Scapa about 6 o’clock. Went to breakfast at 7.0 A.M. Started coaling about 8.0 AM. Took in 750 tons. Finished just before 11.0 AM. and then cleaned ship. Finished about 2.0 AM (PM?) and then got head down for about an hour. Went to evening service at 6.0 p.m. Zepp reported to be on the way over.

Usual Saturday Routine. Holy stoned decks before breakfast. Scrubbed out mess in forenoon. Aired night clothing. (?) party in afternoon when had submarine watch from 3-4. Clocks put back 1.2 hour during watch and so really got 1 1/2 hours. Put other 1/2 hour back in dog watches.

Hands called at 3.0.A.M. Started ammunitioning at 3.45. In (?) getting in shell. Finished about 2.30. Cleaned into coaling rig directly after. Cinema (?) man on board taking photos. Started coaling about 4.0 p.m. Took in 8.50 tons. Finished about 4 o’clock. Swept down decks afterward.

vous”. Turned in at 10.45.
