Holystoned decks before breakfast but did not wash down. On after deck practically all the forenoon putting slip rope on. Got under way about 12 o’clock. Had not long left the Tyne when minesweepers sighted mine field. They also fired at and exploded three. Nearly ran into them but turned in time and made longer sweep round. Submarine watch from 6-4. Arrived Rosyth about 10 o’clock.
